Women’s hall of fame nominations open until March 21
We’d like call readers attention to the fact that nominations are being accepted for the 2014 class of the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame.
The hall, which is located in Lansing, commemorates Michigan women who have distinguished themselves in one or more fields of endeavor, according to an Associated Press story.
Candidates for admission may have been born in Michigan, achieved prominence within the state or been a resident of the state for an extended period after achieving prominence elsewhere, AP reported.
Past honorees include U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, civil rights activist Rosa Parks, singer Aretha Franklin and Civil War soldier Sarah Emma Edmonds.
All nominations must be submitted by mail on approved nomination forms that can be found online. The deadline for submissions is March 21.
