William S. ‘Bill’ Coulter

ISHPEMING, MI. – William S. “Bill” Coulter, age 65, of 207 N. Maple St., Ishpeming passed away in the loving care of his family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice on Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home.

Bill was born November 26, 1948 in Syracuse, NY the son of the late Floyd and Marjorie Coulter. Bill was accustomed to moving and graduated from high school in San Diego, CA. He had worked with his father in the roofing business prior to entering the United States Army. Bill had spent his working career (28 years) as an underground coal miner in Kentucky. He had resided in Port St. Lucie, FL from 2006 through April of 2009 when he moved to Ishpeming.

Bill enjoyed woodworking, bowling, video games and listening to old country music.

Survivors include his wife Sheryl Coulter of Ishpeming whom he married March 2, 2006 in Florida; a son Jessie Coulter of Ishpeming, step-son Kevin (Jennifer) Stiltner of KY, 2 children through his second marriage Alesia Carello of Gwinn and Terry (Debbie) Gardiner of Green Bay, WI, a sister Maureen (Paul) Van Riper of Arizona, 5 grandchildren Nichole, Devin, Danny, Shawn and Christina, 3 great grandchildren Kylie, Harmony and Jocelyn.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy Coulter on Jan. 1, 2005.

Private services will be held at a later date.
