LSSU announces new president
SAULT?STE. MARIE – Lake Superior State University’s Board of Trustees announced Tuesday that it has selected University of Wisconsin official Thomas Pleger as the northern Michigan school’s next president.
The roughly 3,000-student university said that it is expected to formalize Pleger’s appointment at the board’s regular meeting on Friday.
“LSSU is an institution with remarkable history and tradition, geographic location, and commitment to quality, both in and out of the classroom,” Pleger said in a statement. “It is a time of great challenge and opportunity in higher education, and I am looking forward to the work we will do together.”
Pleger will be the school’s eighth president.
