Patricia Ann Cherrette O’Donnell

MARQUETTE, MI. – Patricia Ann Cherrette O’Donnell went to glory on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014.

Patsy was born July 22nd, 1929 in Big Bay, Michigan to Rose Chaperone and James Cherrette and became a lifelong resident of Marquette. She graduated from Bishop Baraga High School in 1947.

Patsy and Ed were married on June 4th, 1949 and enjoyed 40 years together.

She started work with Michigan Bell in the early 60’s as a telephone operator and continued as a layout engineer with AT&T until 1981.

She loved reading, playing cribbage and solitaire, shopping, cooking, dining out and spending time with her family. She was also a proud and generous supporter of the Salvation Army for over 20 years, sponsoring countless children at summer camp.

Patsy is survived by her brother Pete, four sister-in-laws; Jane, Alice, Yvonne and Sally, children; Cathy and Bill Becker, Connie Altman, Michael, Dennis and Eddie, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ed, brothers; Larry Omar, Orval, Bill and Dennis, sisters; Vivian Leischow, Rita Hill, Gertude Paris, Joan Anderson and a grandchild Emily.

Services will be held at St. Christopher’s Church on Saturday, January 25th at 1:30 p.m., with a “celebration” of her life to follow at the American Legion Hall in Marquette.

Patsy asked that donations to the Salvation Army be made in lieu of flowers.
