Loves their pets

To the Journal editor:

There have been a few letters published lately from people who have lost pets and are grieving. We have had cats in our lives since the 1950s and in March our 19-year-old, Pepper, went to catnip heaven to join the previous 13 who have left us.

We came home from the vet and the house felt so empty. Two days later, we were at UPAWS to find another companion to join us. A beautiful black cat with big yellow eyes just looked at us and it was love immediately.

He is just a wonderful friend and so much fun. It’s a very hard thing to make the decision to let a pet go but it’s done out of love.

We still talk about those who have gone and remember something they did so they are never forgotten. They remain in our hearts.
