NMU football: Escanaba’s Jace Daniels sticking with Tampa Bay Buccaneers
TAMPA, Fla. – Former Northern Michigan University offensive lineman and Escanaba native Jace Daniels signed a futures contract Monday to remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after finishing the 2013 season on the franchise’s practice squad.
The Buccaneers, who replaced head coach Greg Schiano with former Bears coach Lovie Smith at the end of the season, signed a total of 12 free agents to futures contracts Monday. Of those 12, eight finished 2013 on the Buccaneers’ practice squad.
The list released Monday by the organization includes cornerbacks Marc Anthony and Bobby Felder, tackles Emett Cleary and Daniels, defensive tackles Everett Dawkins and David Hunter, guard Jason Foster, kicker Patrick Murray, quarterback Jordan Rodgers, long snapper Patrick Scales, punter Jacob Schum and wide receiver Tommy Streeter.
Jordan Rodgers is the younger brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
