NMU skiing: Wildcats travel to Wisconsin this weekend

MARQUETTE – Members of the Northern Michigan University Nordic ski team will get a change of scenery this weekend as they travel to Wausau, Wis., for the USSA Opener Saturday and Sunday.

For the past two weeks, NMU has competed in Houghton.

Last weekend at the Michigan Tech Challenge, senior Rosie Frankwoski won both the freestyle and classic races for the women. She finished with times of 32:00 and 16:43, respectively.

Senior Jordyn Ross placed second in the freestyle, while Mary Kate Cirelli came in second in the classic.

Fredrik Schwencke won the classic race on the men’s side with a time of 29:20. Junior Kyle Bratrud had two second-place finishes, posting times of 41:38 in the freestyle and 29:41 in the classic race.
