MAHS class selling calendars

MARQUETTE – Students in the Marquette Alternative High School photography class are once again selling calendars for the new year.

The annual publication features photographs taken by students in and around the Marquette area.

MAHS photography teacher Cindy DePetro said the calendars make great gifts for “those who are missing ‘home’.” In previous years, the calendars have traveled to Afghanistan, Iraq, japan, England and many of the 50 states.

They are $20 each. The students will also mail them upon request for another $5.

The proceeds from each sale will be used to fund the class’s annual photography show as well as a field trip. This year, DePetro said the group hopes to raise enough money to send the students to Mackinac Island for a day.

Calendars can be ordered by emailing DePetro at or by stopping in to the office of the Graveraet school in Marquette.
