Body found in Sault Ste. Marie
SAULT STE. MARIE – The Sault Ste. Police Department is investigating the finding of a body of a local man behind a corner store Monday morning.
Police identified the man as Raymond Leo Mendoskin, 40, of Sault Ste. Marie.
According to a press release issued today, at about 6:50 a.m. Monday, police received a report of a person lying face-down in the snow behind the Soo Corner Store, located at 204 E. Portage Ave. The person was reported to be wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
An EMS team arrived and pronounced Mendoskin to be deceased.
Police said an autopsy has been requested by the Chippewa County medical examiner. The case is being investigated by the detective bureau of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department.
