MHSAA football: Parking options available near Ford Field

DETROIT – More than 2,000 parking spaces will be available in close proximity to Ford Field and next-door Comerica Park for the convenience of fans attending Ishpeming’s state championship football game on Saturday.

These parking lots are west, east and north of the two sports parks, and will be clearly marked with Olympia Entertainment signs with parking to cost $6, according to the Michigan High School Athletic Association. A map identifying these lots is available at the MHSAA website at Other privately owned lots are also available with prices set by their operators.

Tailgating, including the setting up and use of grilling equipment, and the consumption of alcohol, is prohibited by City of Detroit ordinances, according to the MHSAA.

Ford Field entrances for the public are gates A, B and G, with ticket sales at gates A and G starting at 8 a.m. and the doors opening at 9 a.m. The Division 7 Ishpeming vs. Detroit Loyola contest is the first of four title games that day and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $10 and are good for all four games, including the only other Upper Peninsula team playing this weekend, Menominee, in its 4:30 p.m. matchup with Grand Rapids West Catholic for the Division 5 championship.

Spectators leaving the stadium must purchase another ticket to re-enter, and only children under age 2 will be admitted without a ticket.

Both Ishpeming and Menominee are designated home teams in their games and are assigned seating on the South side of the field. Video boards above these areas will display team names to guide fans to their sections.
