NMU skiing: Wildcats sign Burnsville, Minn. native to NLI
MARQUETTE – Vivian Hett of Burnsville, Minn., will join the Northern Michigan University women’s nordic ski team for the 2014-15 season.
NMU head coach Sten Fjeldheim announced Hett as an early signee on Wednesday.
“Vivian is a talented athlete who has proven herself on the national skiing circuit and in the classroom,” Fjeldheim said. “I’m excited about the potential for her to be an elite collegiate skier.”
At the 2013 Minnesota State High School Meet last season, Hett made five appearances for Burnsville High School with a second place in the pursuit race her highest finish.
At the 2013 USSA Junior Nationals, Hett had two finishes in the top 10 for her age group. In the 5-kilometer freestyle, she finished seventh and in the mass start 10K classic, she placed eighth.
Hett also competes for BHS in cross country and track.
