‘Feeling it!’ colloquium at NMU
MARQUETTE – A Northern Michigan University colloquium entitled “Feeling it! Neural correlates of emotional experience from anxiety to euphoria,” will be at 3:10 p.m. Friday in 167 Gries Hall at NMU.
Joshua Carlson, an NMU psychology professor, will be the speaker. He will discuss the results of three magnetic resonance imaging studies dealing with how emotions are represented in the human brain.
These studies aim to help psychologists understand the continually changing emotional state of humans and how the dynamic nature of emotions correlates with psychological conditions ranging from anxiety and euphoria to anhedonia and emotional numbing.
