NMU volleyball: Wildcats clinch home berth in GLIAC tournament

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University clinched a home berth in the first round of the GLIAC tournament Saturday with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-20) league triumph over host Lake Superior State.

The Wildcats of head coach Dominic Yoder will carry a 22-9 overall record into Wednesday’s playoff encounter with a time and opponent to be determined. NMU finishes the regular season with a 15-3 GLIAC mark.

Kalli Herron paced NMU with 12 kills, an ace and two digs. Teammate Sarah Hamilton added 10 kills, Kellisha Harley collected 31 assists and Alex Berger recorded 11 digs.

Emily Snyder led LSSU (4-21, 2-16) with 11 kills and seven digs. Jen Marren contributed 10 kills, Janelle Nagy 26 assists and 10 digs, and Meghan Drobish 14 digs.
