Local photographer’s work featured on book
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. – Marquette Photographer Shawn Malone of Lake Superior Photo is an expert when it comes to capturing the elusive beauty of the northern lights.
Author Deb Holland of Sun Prairie, Wis., recalls the day she first saw Malone’s work.
“I had been searching for just the right cover shot for my new book, ‘Make Your Destiny Your Reality’,” Holland said. “We were walking around at Art Fair on the Square in Madison and Shawn’s work jumped out as the best at the show. The moment I saw Northern Lights over Brockway Mountain, I said that’s it, there’s my cover shot. It is one of the most striking images I have ever seen. Shawn and Brian have been a joy to work with, and the cover has gotten rave reviews from day one. I’m proud to be associated with them.”
Holland is from Montana and loves spending time outdoors. She vacations annually in the Upper Peninsula. “Make Your Destiny Your Reality” is now available on Amazon.com.
Holland also serves as CEO of her own business, HAK Enterprises, a business built on helping people develop their full potential. Holland believes strongly in being a good community partner.
Her company dedicates 10 percent of its monthly profits to charitable organizations each month. November’s awardees included: Friends of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.
Malone and her husband, Brian, are both photographers and own Marquette’s Lake Superior Photo.
Malone is known for her photos of the northern lights and the night sky in and around Marquette.
