NMU cross country: Wildcats head to NCAA Midwest Regionals in Wisconsin

MARQUETTE – A well rested Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team will swing back into action Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional set for noon Saturday in Kenosha, Wis.

Coach Jenny Ryan’s squad – ranked No. 8 in the Midwest Region – is coming off a week of no competition following a fifth place finish in the GLIAC Championships.

“The team is really focused on having a good performance this weekend,” Ryan said. “They’re confident in their training and ready to run this course that we know very well.”

Mary Kate Cirelli, Megan Edic, Olivia Howard, Christina Toogood, Jordyn Ross, Larissa Halonen and Chelsea Farquhar will be NMU’s seven runners for the regional.

The top four teams from the region will move on to the NCCA Championship on Nov. 23 in Spokane, Wash.
