Free family concert in?Ishpeming

ISHPEMING – A free family concert will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Peterson Auditorium in Ishpeming High School.

Jerry Jacoby is a Christian comedian, songwriter, and storyteller who will be appearing in middle school assemblies at Aspen Ridge, Negaunee, and Ishpeming Monday through Wednesday, teaching about good character.

All ages are welcome on Wednesday evening to thear the faith side of Jacoby’s story, along with hilarious audience-participation.

After the concert, there will be a reception in the gym with refreshments and prizes. This event is sponsored by WIN for Christ, a new ecumenical ministry for youths on the west end.

Community flu clinic in Gwinn

GWINN – The Marquette County Health Department will be holding a community flu clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Gwinn Drive Thru in Gwinn.

The fee for influenza vaccinations is $25. The pneumonia vaccine is available for $75.

The healt department will bill Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.

Passport Fair in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING – The Ishpeming Post Office will be hosting a Passport Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ishpeming post office.

The United States Postal Service has the products and services you need to submit your new passport or renewal application.

Toys for Tots Campaign this week

MARQUETTE – The Lake Superior Detachment 764 of the Marine Corps League will hold its kickoff for htis year’s Toys for Tots Campaign at 6 p.m, Wednesday at the Bonanza Restaurant in Marquette.

Procedures for the 2013 campaign will be outlined and assignments given out.

Boxes and other materials for the campaign will also be distributed. All interested persons and organizations are welcomed.

Lions Club Halloween party

HARVEY- The 29th Annual Chocolay Lions Club Party will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cherry Creek School in Harvey.

There will be games and prizes, as well as free hot dogs, pop, milk, and coffee.
