BlackMahal to perform at NMU

MARQUETTE – The Northern Nights series at Northern Michigan University will host BlackMahal, a San Francisco-based live music experience at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Great Lakes Room of the University Center, Marquette.

BlackMahal is a part P-Funk, part Punjabi-Funk band that incorporates drums, DJs, horns, hip-hop MCs and the godfather of Punjabi-American music, Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti. BlackMahal represents the new California feel: hippie hybrid and hip-hop. It has performed major concerts across North America, including the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Tickets are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets. Prices are: students, $5 advance/$7 at the door; NMU employees/seniors 60+, $13/$15; and general public, $18/$20.
