Auditions for ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’
MARQUETTE – Auditions for Ebenezer Scrooge will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 5 p.m. Oct.19, on the third floor of Graveraet, Marquette.
Accompanist provided. We will also be able to accommodate CD or iPod usage for your audition. Prepare 30-60 seconds of a song. You may prepare a short (30-60 second) monologue if you choose, but not necessary.
Scenes from show will be provided for you to read. Looking for cast members 5 years old and older.
The production will be held Dec. 19 through 21 at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette.
Cards at Sisters Working Together
MARQUETTE – Sisters Working Together will be selling homemade cards from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marquette.
Sisters Working Together is a small group of women who make homemade greeting cards. They work all year making these beautiful cards and then sell them to raise money for educational scholarships. All of their profits are used for the scholarships.
March against Monsato today
MARQUETTE – The March against Monsanto/March with Love for our Farmers will be held at 2 p.m. today beginning at the Marquette Commons at the corner of Third and Washington street and will end at McClellan Avenue.
March Against Monsanto is a global call to action aimed at informing the public, calling into question the long-term health risks of genetically modified foods and demanding the GMO products be labeled so that consumers can make informed decisions.
Millions of activists from around the world will join the March Against Monsanto, calling for the permanent boycott of genetically modified organisms and other harmful agro-chemicals.
Why do we march? Concerned consumers all over the world are marching to protect our food supply, support local farms, protect our environment, promote organic solutions, expose cronyism between big business and the government and bring accountability to those responsible for the corruption.
Croatian Chicken Fundraiser
NEGAUNEE – Negaunee Co-op Preschool Croatian Chicken Fundraiser will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the Negaunee senior center, Negaunee.
Get a half-chicken dinner with coleslaw and a roll for only $10. Call ahead and reserve your dinners at 475-5301. There will also be a bake sale during pick up.

MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Choir, Madrigal Singers and Lake Effect Show Choir will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday the in Reynolds Recital Hallat Northern Michigan University.
The University Choir and Madrigal Singers are directed by Floyd Slotterback. The Lake Effect Show Choir is directed by Sharon Green with choreography by Jill Grundstrom.
Rehearsals for ‘King Lear’ Sunday
ISHPEMING – Come and sit in on the rehearsals of the Westwood Shakespeare Company Community Theatre’s production of King Lear at 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Joy Center in Ishpeming.
The company, which is composed of some of the finest adult and student actors from around the area will travel around the area throughout the coming year, holding once a month, free, open, rehearsals at various venues.
