NMU volleyball: No. 2-ranked Minnesota-Duluth sweeps Wildcats

DULUTH, Minn. – Unable to contain No. 2-ranked Minnesota-Duluth, the Northern Michigan University volleyball team fell, 17-25, 17-25, 12-25, to the Bulldogs in a non-conference match Tuesday night.

Freshman Alex Larson came up with a team-high 10 kills for the Wildcats, but it wasn’t enough as coach Dominic Yoder’s club fell to 12-5.

Senior Lina Lopes added eight kills and a service ace for NMU. Senior Sarah Hamilton posted six kills.

Senior setter Kellisha Harley recorded 24 assists, while Northern libero Alex Berger came up with 13 digs.

NMU posted a .072 attack percentage to UMD’s .314.

Kate Lange led the Bulldogs (16-1) with 14 kills, an ace and a block.

NMU returns home this weekend to host Malone at 7 p.m. on Friday and Walsh at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
