Ishpeming, MI. – Warren Laneville, age 84, of 651 Mather Ave. Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Friday Oct. 4, 2013 at his home in Ishpeming.
Warren was born February 8, 1929 in Gwinn the son of the late Leo and Lillian (Anderson) Laneville. He grew up in Palmer and attended the Palmer School. Warren had served in the United States Navy and the United States Army. He served during the Korean War while in the Army and received the Korean Service Ribbon with 3 Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
Following his service time, Warren became a Diamond Driller and traveled to various mines for employment, settling in Ishpeming following his marriage to Frances D. (Padjen) Laneville.
He worked at the Tracy Mine for 14 years and then became a Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Ishpeming, retiring in 1989 after 17 years of service to the city.
Warren will be remembered as a private man, enjoying hunting and fishing, along with time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son Steven W. Laneville and 2 daughters Kenna J. (Jamie) Dobson and Diane (Danny) Garceau all of Ishpeming, 4 grandchildrenJay Laneville, Luke and Brad Dobson and Erin Garceau, and 3 great grandchildrenJulia, Brady and Logan. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Laneville in 2005, and his 3 sisters Joan LaCosse, Jean Forman and Carol Frederickson.
Private services will be held for Warren, with inurnment taking place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
