Who was the biggest influence on your hockey career and why?

“I’d have to say my dad. He demanded perfection out of us as kids. Even though we played well, there was always something he critiqued you on. I think it made me better, though I may not have been good at it at the time.”

What is your biggest superstition in hockey?

“If I start a game, I’ll cross backwards through the dot twice after I tap the goalie’s pads.”

In head coach Walt Kyle’s words:

“He’s a good puck moving defenseman. Heavy shot, great work ethic. He should provide a good physical presence back there. We’re expecting a lot from this kid this year.”
