NMU to kick off Homecoming bash

MARQUETTE -Northern Michigan University’s 2013 Homecoming celebration will begin on Friday with the homecoming parade at 5:30 p.m. on Third Street, Marquette.

In the event of inclement weather, it will be postponed to Saturday.

Also, Friday night will be the All-Alumni Reception with free appetizers and a cash bar from 6:30 pm to 8:30 p.m. at the Landmark Inn.

Saturday’s events include the community block party from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Third Street between Kaye and Magnetic.

It features food vendors, free inflatable games, face painting, pony rides and student performances.

The Wildcats’ Homecoming football game against Ohio Dominican will begin at 3 p.m. in the Superior Dome.

The fifth quarter post-game party starts at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. For more information, visit nmu.edu/alumni.
