NMU homecoming events set

MARQUETTE – It’s homecoming week at Northern Michigan University and a full slate of activities have been scheduled for the week, leading up to Saturday’s football game against Ohio Dominican.

The week kicked off Sunday with Northern’s long-standing homecoming tradition, the Dead River Games.

The homecoming king and queen competition is set for 7 this evening in the Great Lakes Rooms of the Bottum University Center.

Other activities include:

– A stepping competition at 7 p.m. Wednesday in room 102 of Jamrich Hall room.

– Homecoming parade will commence at 5:30 p.m. Friday and will take revelers down Third Street.

– NMU Game Day begins Saturday at noon with a community block party on Third Street, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Superior Dome.

– A fifth quarter reception will begin at 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.
