Homework excessive

To the Journal editor:

The article in Sunday’s Mining Journal by a high school junior hit the nail on the head. Teachers are assigning way too much homework everyday, kids don’t have time to be kids and they are burning out. Students should “NOT” have more than 30 to 60 minutes of homework per day total. And back packs are way to heavy lots of times over 50 pounds. Where is MIOSHA or OSHA on this? There are restrictions on how much weight a worker can carry in the workplace. Students should not have to carry this much weight.

I would like to see The Mining Journal, school boards, school administrators and teachers get on board on this very “heavy subject”
