Cecelia M. (Crowley) Legacy
HARVEY, MI. – Cecelia M. (Crowley)?Legacy, 91, of Wildwood Drive, Harvey, died at 6:25 pm on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital where she had been a patient for one day. She had been in ill health since January of 2012.
Cecelia was born February 14, 1922 in Marquette to Francis ‘Frank’ and Marie (Parent) Versailles, was a graduate of Bishop Baraga High School, Class of 1939, and was a lifelong area resident. She was employed as a clinical typist for the Alger-Marquette Community Mental Health Care Center for 16 years, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Legacy enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Clyde Legacy, Jr.; 3 children: James (Sandy) Crowley of Jacksonville, FL, Thomas Crowley of Marquette and Beverly (Steven) Richer of Green Bay; a step-son, Michael (Linda) Legacy of Beaufort Lake; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Marie L. Hawke of Detroit, Jeannette Carlson of Ishpeming and Marlene (Robert) Bell of Marquette; a brother, John Versailles of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Crowley; 2 sisters: Donna Aartila and Ernestine McCarthy; and a brother, James Versailles.
A celebration of Cecelia’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
