Rachael M. Beacco

NEGAUNEE, MI. – Rachael Marie Beacco, 25, of 338 Victoria Ave., Negaunee, ended her courageous fight against colon cancer on Saturday morning, September 7, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Rachael was born August 17, 1988 to Michael and Wendy (Syria) Beacco at Grand Forks A.F.B., North Dakota. She was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 2006 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Northern Michigan University in 2011. Rachael was most recently employed by TV6 as a Director/Marketing and Promotions Assistant.

Visual arts, travel and spending time with her family and pets were Rachael’s love and joy. She grew up traveling with her family, and during her senior year in college, studied abroad in Rome, Italy for a semester. Most recently, Rachael traveled to New York City.

Rachael is survived by her parents Michael and Wendy Beacco of Negaunee, sister Elissa (Andrew Macario), boyfriend, Adam Mohrman, maternal grandparents, John and Patricia Heliin of Gulf Shores, Alabama, maternal great- grandmother, Ruth Pleaugh of Marquette, paternal grandmother, Kay Beacco of Negaunee.

Rachael is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins: Sherry and JB McKenna (Andy, Beau, Dylan, Ashlee, Hayden) of Peoria, Arizona, Terri Bosher (Tarance Artis) of Peoria, Arizona, Steve and Candi Heliin (Brittani, Jory, Kendall, Jade, Autumn, Emily, Nathan) of Marquette, Tim and Toni Heliin (Trey, Tessa) of Roscommon, Kerry and Gary Klein (Sarah, Phil, Lydia and Louis Dix, Danny and Cory Champion), Tony Beacco and Bill Barrette, all of Negaunee. Her beloved pets, Presley and Milo also survive Rachael. Rachael was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Louie Beacco in 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee with Rev. John Shiverski officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Mohrman, Andrew Macario, Danny and Cory Champion, Steve and Tim Heliin. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM at the church and also at a reception in the St. Paul School Gym following the service on Tuesday.
