NMU football: Coaches poll slots Wildcats seventh in GLIAC North Division
MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University football team was picked by the league’s 15 coaches to finish seventh in GLIAC North Division in 2013, ahead of only Northwood. NMU finished last in the North last year at 3-7, one game back of Northwood.
Grand Valley State was picked topped the North Division in the preseason poll released Monday with 94 total points in voting, though the Lakers tied Saginaw Valley State with six first place votes. Ferris State, Michigan Tech and Hillsdale received one first-place vote each.
In the South, Ashland received 10 first place votes to top the division. Ohio Dominican picked up four first-place votes to finish second and Findlay received one first-place vote to finish third.
NMU’s non-division schedule in the GLIAC this year is again the South’s top three teams – Findlay, Ashland and Ohio Dominican.
