NMU soccer: Wildcats begin tour of Europe

The Northern?Michigan?University soccer team embarked on a two-week tour of Europe on Tuesday with will include four games. Destinations include Munster in Germany, Brussels in Belgium and the Dutch capital of Amsterdam. The team will also embark on two bike tours, including a seven-mile trip into a Dutch village. The team will be based out of Zutphen, Netherlands. The team will be checking in daily with The Mining Journal and NMUWildcats.com.

“We’re really excited to be going on this trip,” NMU soccer coach Matt Granstrand said Tuesday. “Some of our players have never been to Europe. It will be a great experience and a fun kickoff to the season. We’re going to experience the culture, play lots of soccer and bond as a team.”
