Finlandia U. tobacco-free

HANCOCK (AP) – Finlandia University says its campuses are smoke- and tobacco-free after a new policy took effect.

The school’s President Philip Johnson said in a statement that the move was in response to urging from students, student groups and employees. He says it’s also a response to state and national trends, and trends on college and university campuses. The new policy took effect Thursday. It applies to all indoor and outdoor university areas, activities, and property. The policy doesn’t apply to tobacco use in personal vehicles.
