Dale Wade Samuelson

NEGAUNEE, Mich. – Dale Wade Samuelson, 78, of 309 Prince St., Negaunee, died at 9:40 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans where he had resided since September, 2012.

Dale was born December 23, 1934 in Detroit to Emil and Hilma (Kanainen) Samuelson and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. Dale worked as a maintenance employee at the Crivitz Nursing Home in Wisconsin, retiring in 1988. Following his employment, he moved back to Negaunee in 1998. He enjoyed reading and was an avid cribbage player, often playing at the local senior centers.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathy Renfors of Marquette, 1 grandchild, and his brother, William Holm of Negaunee. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons: Robert and David Samuelson; a daughter, Susan Samuelson; and a sister, Marjorie Flateau.

Honoring Dale’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place at the family plot in the Negaunee Cemetery.
