Local culinary team wins competition

The Northern Michigan University/Marquette Alger Regional Educational Service Agency high school culinary program won the State of Michigan Department of Education Junior Chef competition held recently at Michigan State University. The team included, from left, Brittany Dagenais, Sara Beck and Kelsey Eaton and was coached by NMU professor Christopher Kibit. The team submitted a healthy school lunch recipe idea and was one of eight teams selected out of 25 statewide entries to cook their recipe for a panel of judges.
