Widdis dominates at Sands Speedway

SANDS – Brett Widdis of Manistique swept all the honors in the Late Model class at the Sands Speedway on Saturday.
Widdis posted the fastest time while winning both the heat and feature races.
The track will host Kids Day on July 27 with bikes and helmet to be awarded, while Hot Wheels racing will also take place.
Here are the results from Saturday, listed in order of the top three finishers in each race wiht hometowns:
Purestock – Heat: Doug Maki, Perkins; Joe Holm, Gwinn; Collin Cavin, Marquette. Feature: Cavin; Maki; Wyatt Goodwin, Marquette. Fastest time: Cavin, 18.503.
4-Cylinder Modified – Heat: Todd Maki, Sands; Ross Olsen Jr., Sands; Aaron Sprowl, Skandia. Feature: Sprowl; Todd Maki; Jeremy Yelle, Gwinn. Fastest time: Olsen, 17.169.
Super Stock – Heat 1: Mike Stanchina, Norway; Shane Miller, Negaunee; Austin Cayer, Escanaba. Heat 2: Stan Wittler, Marquette; Steve Pepin, Escanaba; Darryl Wirkula, Sands. Feature: Todd Yelle, Gwinn; Ross Olsen Sr., Sands; Pepin. Fastest time: Chris Lucas, Beaver Grove, 16.509.
Late Model – Heat: Brett Widdis, Manistique; Allan Yelle, Gwinn; Rob Goodwin, Marquette. Feature: Widdis; Goodwin; Darryl Britton, Marquette. Fastest time: Widdis, 15.379.
