Marquette, Munising claim most crowns at 24th Mickey Johnson Tennis Tournament

MARQUETTE – Marquette and Munising were well represented with champions at the 24th annual Mickey Johnson Tennis Tournament the weekend of June 28-30.

More than 80 boys and girls from around the Upper Peninsula competed.

Marquette and Munising each won a championship when players from those respective cities faced each other in a finale.

Ini the boys 18-under singles, Noah Ackerman of Munising held off Kle King of Marquette, 6-4, 7-5, while at boys 14, Alec Olivier of Marquette whitewashed Cade Contreras of Munising, 6-0, 6-0.
