Holy Name student Anderson wins 2nd place in America and Me contest
Sarah Anderson, 14, an eighth grade student at Holy Name Catholic School in Escanaba, was one of 10 statewide winners in the America & Me Essay Contest. Eighth graders from across the state participated in the 44th annual contest, sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance. Anderson’s essay, based on the topic “My Personal Michigan Hero,” earned second place in the state out of more than 4,500 essays submitted by students from over 450 Michigan schools. Sarah is the daughter of Karen Anderson of Escanaba and Marquette.
