Horsepulling set for Friday, Saturday in Champion

CHAMPION – The 57th annual Champion Horsepulling is set for Friday and Saturday at the horsepulling grounds, sponsored by the Champion/Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department. Scheduled events include:

Friday

– Pony pulling will begin at 6 p.m.

– A dance starts at 8 p.m. and goes until midnight, with music by Shotgun Kelli and State 51.

Saturday

– Mud drag and four-wheeler registration is from 8 to 10 a.m., with mud drags starting at 11 a.m. Four-wheeler mud drags will follow.

– Upper Penisula Garden Tractor Pulls from 4 to 8 p.m.

– Trailer Hitch will provide music for the dance that goes from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Admission each day is $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for kids less than 12 years old.

Other features will be a chicken barbecue both days, pony rides both days, children’s games on Saturday and other food and beverages for sale both days.
