Exhibit features Hamilton, Savu

MICHIGAMME – The current exhibit at Michigamme Moonshine Art Gallery, “Above & Beyond,” will run through July 6. Featured artists are Bill Hamilton and Kathrine Savu.

An artist reception is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the gallery, 136 E. Main in Michigamme.

Refreshments will be served.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Sunday through Monday, and Tuesdays by appointment.

Richmond library goes digital

PALMER – Starting Monday, Richmond Township residents will be able to sign up, check out and then download nonfiction and fiction eBooks, and audio books on their Kindle, Nook, computer, iPad, iPod, Smart Phone and other digital devices from the Great Lakes Digital Library.

Cookie mining at library

MARQUETTE – “Cookie Mining,” a free event for age 8 and older, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Peter White Public Library Children’s Room as part of the Summer Reading and Listening Program,

Dig into Reading. Participants will dig into chocolate chip cookies to learn about mining with geologists from Cliffs Natural Resources. Math skills are necessary.

Free meal at Gwinn church

GWINN – The First Baptist Church of Gwinn will serve a free, home-cooked chicken chow mein over rice dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at 195 N. Billings St. in Gwinn. This meal is open to the public, and take outs will be available after 6 p.m.

NARFE chapter to meet

MARQUETTE – NARFE Chapter 1900 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonanza Restaurant in Marquette.
