Pen Bank rallies for victory in W.I.N. softball

In Junior League action, Peninsula Bank won a battle of unbeaten teams by defeating Globe Printing, 11-5, with a seven-run surge in the seventh inning.

Brylea Ranta drew a bases-loaded walk to make the score 5-5, then Kaleigh Talabacka smacked a two-run double to make Madison Pruett the mound winner. She struck out 10.

Talabacka wound up going 3-for-3 in the game; Ranta added two hits.

For Globe Printing, Haley Mattila hit a pair of triples and drove in three runs. Teammate Anna Chipman added a single, a double and scored twice.

Globe then topped the Elks, 12-3. Chipman went 4-for-4 and scored twice; Sierra Ellet and Aubrie Magnuson chipped in three hits and two RBI each.

Megan Kjellman recorded two hits – including a three-run homer – to pace the Elks.

Peninsula Bank clubbed Meyer Family Vision, 17-1, behind two hits apiece by Hope Hibbard and Rylee Ring. Hibbard drove in two runs.

For Meyer, Julia Johnson went 2-for-2.

Kassy Sharon belted a homer and added two triples to power Jubilee to a 13-12 win over the Elks. Alicia contributed a home run.

Peninsula Bank thumped the Elks, 17-2, as Ranta rapped out three hits – two of them triples – and plated five runs. Pruett added two doubles.

For the Elks, Sophie Hooper hit a double.

In the Senior League, the Tri-Township Lions trimmed VFW, 8-5, as Bree Ranta and Cheyanne Wedgworth each hit a double.

Mya Maanika smacked a triple and drove in three runs for VFW.

The Lions also knocked off Mullins, 16-8, as Kinsie Bertucci went 3-for-4 and Ella Bertucci hit two doubles.

For Mullins, Shana Caliguri hit a double and Sophie Delongchamp went 3-for-3.
