Mildred E. Fleury
IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. – Mildred E. Fleury, 92, of Iron Mountain, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at Hyland Nursing Home.
She was born on April 11, 1921 in Birch, Mich., daughter of the late Carl and May (Raymen) French. Mildred graduated from Graveraet High School in 1939.
Mildred married Clement Fleury on Nov. 27, 1942 in the Bishop’s Parlor in Marquette. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2005. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Chippewa Club, Pine Grove Country Club, and the G.F.W.C. Mildred enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bowling and cheering on the Michigan State Spartans and the Green Bay Packers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by seven children: Clem (Phyllis) Fleury Jr. of Gladstone, Tom (Cheryl) Fleury of Ishpeming, Suzanne (Gary Sparpana) Fleury of Breitung Township, Beverly (Jim) Tobin of Marquette, Jim (Kathy) Fleury of Iron Mountain, Mike (Mary Anne) Fleury of Elizabeth, Colo., and Nancy (Don) Pelino of Rochester Hills, lower Michigan; a sister-in-law Bonnie French of Indianapolis; 19 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Private family services will be held with Fr. Michael Woempner officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery Park. Her sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
