NMU hosts open house for youth camps

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University Recreational Sports will hold a Wildcat Kids and Tween Camp Open House from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday in PEIF Room 140.

Parents are encouraged to stop by to complete a registration form, get questions answered, tour the facility and meet the counselors. Light refreshments will be served.

Wildcat Kids Camp is a traditional summer camp for children 5 years of age through fifth grade. Each week is packed with games, crafts, special events and outdoor adventures. Cost of Kids Camp is $135 for the five-day week from 6:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m., the half day/weekly mornings or afternoons rate is $75 and the daily rate is $35.

Wildcat Tween Camp provides children with the chance to learn valuable life skills, make new friends, develop character and discover new interests. Work on earning all four paws to achieve the overall Wildcat Award.

Activities at camp include swimming, sports games, crafts, outdoor adventures, climbing wall, ice skating, kayaking and canoeing in the pool, team building initiatives and more.

Cost for Tween Camp is $120 for Monday-Thursday, half days for a week is $65 and the daily rate is $35.

Both camps begin on Monday, June 10 and run through Thursday, Aug. 22. Pre-registration is required.
