Marquette woman a suspect in fatal stabbing
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) – The landlord of a Duluth duplex where a woman was fatally stabbed over the weekend says neither the victim nor the suspect arrested in the slaying lived in the house.
Duplex owner Carl Moody says both women knew the renter. Forty-six-year-old Lisa Kay Davis died Sunday. The suspect, a 29-year-old woman from Marquette was arrested in a back bedroom of the residence.
Moody tells the Duluth News Tribune there was no audible commotion in the downstairs unit until Davis screamed after being wounded.
Moody says he has known the victim for decades. She had two adult daughters and several grandchildren. He says the suspect is new to the neighborhood.
Duluth police have not released a possible motive for the crime.
