Henry J. ‘Hank’ Vogeler
AMARILLO, Texas – Henry J. “Hank” Vogeler, 76, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas.
Hank was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Hancock, Michigan to Henry and Maria Vogeler. He was a graduate of Ishpeming, MI High School and went to be a proud Michigan State Spartan graduating in 1958 with a business degree. On Nov. 29, 1958, Hank married Suzanne “Suzie” Larsen. Hank was a proud shareholder and an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
During his work with IBP, he relocated to Amarillo as the plant manager. After a short move away, Hank would return to the city he called home and partner in San Jacinto Frozen Foods eventually buying out and owning the business for over 25 years.
Hank retired and enjoyed traveling with Suzie around the US in their travel trailer often taking the grandchildren with them.
Hank is survived by Suzie, his wife of 55 years, daughters, Sandy Vogeler and Maria Vogeler, both of Denver, CO; a son, Kurt Vogeler and his wife Cheri of Amarillo; granddaughters, Kalie Vogeler-Stephens of College Station, and Jessie Vogeler of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Ingrish of Des Plains, IL; and a brother, Pastor Pete Vogeler of Sanborn, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 6600 Killgore Dr #110, Amarillo, TX 79106.
