Whitford, Dobson spark Sisters in Iron Range

In Class A action, Sisters opened the season with a 12-10 win over Jasper Ridge Brewery I.

Sandie Whitford (three doubles) and Tia Dobson both went 3-for-3 for the winners, while Ashley Nylander added two doubles and Audry Hogan a triple.

For Jasper Ridge I, Amie Axford, Amber Emanuelson and Mindy Nardi all went 3-for-4. Sarah Delongchamp contributed a double.

Terri Tammelin went 5-for-5 with a home run to lead PC Medic to a 21-4 victory over Fox Negaunee. Chelsea Nardi recorded three hits for the losers.

IRACORE got a homer from Heather Moore, and 3-for-3 plate performances from both Brianna Johnson and Holly Nardi, in a 9-7 triumph over Cliffs Natural Resources.

Jess Syrjala and Nikki Schultz both homered for Cliffs.

Shannon Clemo (four) and Amber Buckmaster (three) combined for seven hits as Buck’s Party Store outlasted Venice, 15-13. Buckmaster belted two homers and Clemo one.

For Venice, Abbie Salisbury (triple), Brittney Terzaghi and Kerry White all produced three hits.

Loretta Waananen went 3-for-4 to help Jubilee Foods nip Hickey’s, 13-12.

In Class B, Jean Frederickson posted three hits and Brittney Erickson added two to go with two runs scored as VFW shaded Pasquali’s, 7-6, despite three hits and two runs by Cheryl Oliver.

Rookie’s Too/Quality Car Care won a forfeit over Togo’s II, which did not have enough players.

Crossfit 906 defeated Jack’s TeePee, 24-18, behind five hits (homer) by Liz Steve and four each by Kim Koski (homer) and Traci Sundberg.

Tina Maki and Chanell Anderson collected four hits apiece for Jack’s.

Michelle Palomaki recorded three hits (triple) and Casey Dugan added a three-bagger as Jasper Ridge Brewery II turned back Signs Unlimited, 20-17.

Katie Williams belted a home run for Signs Unlimited.

Paradise Bar trimmed Dave’s Collision, 11-10, as April Lawyer, April Ulrickson and Lisa Niemi all came up with three hits apiece. Kari Getschow turned in two hits for Dave’s.

Sam Zamesnik (double) and Jess Collins produced three hits each as UP Off Road and Performance nipped Hair Hiatus, 8-6.

Michelle Gray (double) and Joanna Smail had two hits each for Hair Hiatus.

In Class C, the Negaunee Eagles crushed Eastwood, 22-3, behind three hits each by Macailey Carlson (two homers) and Joy Prisk (homer) that supported winning pitcher Sue Bazinette.

Carolyn Trewnick had two hits for Eastwood.

Becky Powelson slammed a homer as Rookie’s I clobbered Tru North Credit Union, 21-2. Kate Myers homered for the losers.

Rachel Nicholas (homer) and Sarah Massie both went 4-for-4 and Kerry Myers added three hits – one a round tripper – as Martin Sports Apparel thumped Willey’s Tire Shop, 21-5.

Becky Lee and Brooke Bleckner rapped out two hits apiece for Willey’s.

Wooden Nickel topped UP Fabricating, 7-5, as Kelsey McCarthy knocked in the winning runs in the top of the seventh inning. Valerie Prusi (triple) came up with two hits for UP Fabricating.

Country Lanes shaded Palomaki Family Chiropractic, 9-8 (no game details available).
