NCLL to host history discussion

NEGAUNEE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will host a talk about humorous happenings in the early days of Ishpeming and Negaunee from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the Negaunee Senior Center located at 410 Jackson Street.

Robert Dobson, a researcher, author and NCLL board member, will give the presentation. His monologue is taken from the pages of more than 5,000 weekly newspapers from the Ishpeming Iron Ore and Negaunee Iron Herald from 1873-1930. Dobson will share funny stories about people and animals that were featured in the news during this time period.
