Make someone’s day
To the Journal editor:
National Nursing Home Week, which begins on Mother’s Day and ends May 18, is a special week to recognize the residents of skilled nursing facilities (a.k.a. nursing homes) and those who care for them.
These residents are the people who nurtured our communities and helped them to flourish and grow.
This week gives all of us a chance to recognize their accomplishments and remind them that they are vital to our community.
This year’s theme of “Team Care: Everyone Pitches In!” is a perfect way to remind everyone to pitch in and make these valuable people feel special.
I encourage all friends and family members of a nursing home resident to visit, make a phone call or send a greeting card. This special attention will surely make someone’s day.
