Prep track: Redettes win meet in Marinette

MARQUETTE – With Lindsey Rudden leading the way, the Marquette Senior High School girls track and field team had little trouble winning the Marinette (Wis.) Invitational on Tuesday.

The Redettes scored 189 points to run away with the five-team event. Runner-up Marinette came in with 118, followed by West De Pere (Wis.) with 105, Menominee with 100 and Crivitz (Wis.) with 14.

Rudden won the 800-meter run (2 minutes, 18.37 seconds), the 1,600 run (5:19.25) and the 3,200 run (12:03.42).

In the boys meet, West De Pere claimed top honors with 179 points. Runner-up Menominee finished with 124.75, followed by Marinette (92), Marquette (84.25), Crivitz (62) and Denmark (Wis.), 8.

Cole Rieboldt posted two victories for MSHS, the 1,600 run (4:42) and the 3,200 run (time unavailable). He also ran a leg of Marquette’s winning 1,600 relay unit.
