Shirley A. Jandreau
PALMER, Mich. – Shirley Ann Jandreau, 81, a longtime resident of Isabella Avenue in Palmer, and the Valley View Apartments in Negaunee died at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Facility where she had resided for 2 years.
Shirley was born June 9, 1931 in Negaunee to Clifford and Lillian (Hulverson) Pleau, was a graduate of Negaunee St. Paul High School, Class of 1949, and was a lifelong area resident. In her younger years she worked as a waitress at local restaurants and was a homemaker. Shirley was an avid reader, enjoyed her flower gardens and love to play cribbage. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who most loved being with her family.
Surviving are her children: Rosemary (James) Larson of Ishpeming, James (Kimberly) LaJoie of Negaunee, 7 grandchildren: Anne (Joshua) Daughterty, Michael (Breanna) Larson, Lars (Danielle) Larson, Larissa Larson, Sarah (Marco) Guidotti, Melissa LaJoie, Zach Buzzo, 4 great-grandchildren: Mel, Rori, and Lars Daughterty, and James Larson, one brother, Earl Pleau of Negaunee, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard N. Jandreau on January 22, 1993, a son Jerry LaJoie on August 21, 2009, and a sister Bernice Strahl.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1 at the Koskey Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Lahners, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:30 PM until the time of services at 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.
