Richard J. Wanberg Sr.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Richard J. Wanberg, Sr., 80, Green Bay, went to meet the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side.

The son of the late John and Alma (Goodreau) Wanberg was born on All Saints Day, November 1, 1932 in Marquette, MI. Richard was drafted into the U.S. Army served his country for two years. Richard met and married the love of his life, Alice Madigan on May 23, 1964. Richard received his machinist apprentice certificate while working at Lake Shore, Inc. In 1959 he moved to Green Bay and worked at Paper Converting Machine Company until his retirement in 1998. Richard loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hockey and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice; three children, Mary Ann (Ed) Wittbrodt of Green Bay, Richard, Jr. (Staci) Wanberg of Darboy, Susan (Andrew) Brovold of Bonduel; five grandchildren, Zachary and Madigan Wanberg, Lauren, Birk and Erik Brovold; two sisters-in-law, Frances Frazer of Sunnyvale, Calif., Sybil Wanberg, of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Karin) Madigan, Jack (Evelyn) Madigan, many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; John, William and Robert Wanberg.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., from 4:00 until the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Military Honors will follow. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at
