Scouts earn merit badges

MARQUETTE – Jack Phillips of Boy Scout Troop 360 was recently awarded the robotics merit badge.

Other merit badges presented at the program were welding to Ian Bek, Mathurin Gagnon, Nathan Garwood, Eyn Nye and Seth Potts; Thayer Yates received the aviation merit badge; Ben Noble received the fingerprinting badge; and James Valiquette received the soil and water conservation merit badge.

In addition, Yates was awarded the First Class rank and Valiquette was presented the Second Class rank.

Some members of Troop 360 will be backpacking in Ontario this summer while a younger crew will spend some time on the trail in the Pictured Rocks National Park. Other members will be attending the National Jamboree in West Virginia and working on Camp Hiawatha staff. The entire troop will attend Camp Hiawatha in July.
