GORDON, Wis. – Judith Gucinski 71, of Gordon, Wis., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minn., surrounded by her family.
Judith was born December 26, 1941 in Duluth, Minn., to Lucien and Francis (Sequin) Deriemaeker.
She graduated from Denfeld High School in Duluth, Minn. Judith worked for the U.S. Air force Civilian Personnel from 1960 to 1995 primarily at the Duluth, Minn., Air force base and the K.I. Sawyer Air force base in Michigan. She retired in September 1995, when the K.I. Sawyer AFB closed.
She married Martin on April 20, 1963, they were looking forward to their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Judy belonged to the Business of Professional Women; she served her church for many years in a variety of ways. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and gardening. Judy was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gordon, Wis.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her husband Martin of Gordon, Wis.; one son Stephen (Laura) Gucinski; two grandchildren Katrina and Benjamin Gucinski; brother Duane (Geri) Deriemaeker; three sisters Mary (Tom) Donahue, Phyllis Ballantine, and Pat Sundeen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Duane Deriemaeker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the St. Pius X Catholic Church of Solon Springs, Wis. Father James Kinney will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
