Earl C.J. Garrow

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Earl C.J. Garrow, age 90, of 918 Cleveland Avenue, Marquette, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the Mather Nursing Center where he had been a patient since Saturday. He had been in ill health for the last few months.

Born September 9, 1922, in Marquette to Sidney and Rose Garrow, he remained in Marquette his entire life.

He is survived by his daughter, Patsy “Pat” (Kenneth) Posio and son, Wayne “Mokey” (Kathy) Garrow; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence; and a brother, William.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice E. Garrow on January 18, 1996; daughter, Darlene “Peanut” (Jack) Rogers; a sister, Gladys; 3 brothers, George, Paul, and Alex.

Earl worked at the Mather B Mine underground for 22 years before moving to the Tilden Mine from where he retired in 1983. Earl loved to spend time at the casino, going to the Island, and going to his granddaughter’s house to feed the birds and squirrels. Entertaining his family and friends with his harmonica music is something we will always cherish. He is deeply loved and will surely be missed.
